In addition, there are newer treatments and day surgery procedures not listed under Specialty Services that includes:

  • Thyroid tumor ablation: evaluation and management of thyroid nodules. Newer treatment of thyroid radiofrequency ablation is available which is a great alternative to open surgery.
  • Bariatric artery embolization: this is minimally invasive procedure for weight loss with expected weight loss of about 10%-15% as day surgery procedure.
  • Prostate artery embolization: this is new treatment as day surgery to shrink large prostate and preserves sexual function at same time.
  • Osteoarthritis embolization: this is treatment for pain in knee and shoulder joints for patients who do not respond well to medication and joint injections.  Classical candidate will be a patient with pain in knees that has not responded to medication and joint injection and is not a candidate for joint replacement surgery as of now either being too young or has other medical issues.
