Dr. Namgech, a graduated ophthalmologist from the University of Health Sciences, was trained as a general ophthalmologist in Ophthalmologist Residency Training (ORT) program in Cambodia from 2015 to 2018. She has been practicing in the field of Ophthalmology at Angkor Hospital for Children, located in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia for the past year. In 2019, she started working at Meng-Rutnin Eye Specialist and Calmette Hospital. Dr. Namgech is currently pursuing an inter-country Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship 2020-2022, supported by Sight for All Foundation, Australia. She holds a degree of the Essential Skills of Medical Education (ESME) by Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE).
Aside from focusing on clinical work, Dr. Namgech is committed to improve the Cambodian ophthalmology training program and society by being involved with Cambodian Ophthalmological Society (COS). She has been selected by the general assembly to become the vice-general secretary of committee since 2018. She has strong interests in the Pediatric Ophthalmology subspecialty and strongly believes in improving the healthcare of neonates and children by effectively preventing and treating diseases in a timely manner with the utmost cooperation and inter-professionalism to assure the quality of treatment.
