Breast Cancers
Breast cancer is a type of cancer that forms in the cells of the breast. There are different types of breast cancer, and they can be categorized based on where they start, how they grow, and other factors.
Some common types include ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC), invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC), and inflammatory breast cancer (IBC).
Surgery is the main treatment for early-stage breast cancer.
common treatments performed include:
  • Excision biopsy of breast lumps
  • Lumpectomy and Oncoplastic wide excisions for suitable breast cancers
  • Oncoplastic partial breast reconstruction
  • Mastectomy: skin and or nipple sparing mastectomy for breast cancer
  • Sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancers
  • Image-guided (mammogram/ ultrasound/MRI) localization and excision biopsy of screen-detected abnormal findings
  • Targeted (selective) axillary lymph node dissection for lymph nodes affected by cancer spread but treated with chemotherapy
  • Axillary lymph node dissection with lymphovenous anastomosis to prevent lymphoedema
  • Drainage of multiloculated or extensive breast abscesses.
