Dr Andrew Tan Eik Hock is a consultant nuclear medicine physician and the Head of department at the Farrer Park Hospital (Singapore) Nuclear Medicine Department. He is also a consultant at the Raffles Hospital (Singapore) Nuclear Medicine Center, the medical director at the Mlve Medical Diagnostic Suites (Singapore), and runs clinics at the Asian American Radiation Oncology (AARO), part of the Asian American Medical Group.
After completing his MBBS at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2001, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in the United Kingdom in 2008 and admitted as a Fellow into the Academy of Medicine Singapore (College of Radiology) in 2009. He was subsequently awarded a Diplomate in Nuclear Cardiology from the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (United States) in 2011. In 2012, he was awarded the Singhealth Doctor’s Long Service Award to recognize dedication to patient care for more than 10 years.
Dr Tan has underwent multiple training stints in various internationally recognized medical centers in the development of his career, which includes Zentralklinik Bad Berka (Germany), Innsbruck Medical University (Austria), European Institute of Oncology (Milan), and Austin Health (Australia). He was a member of the Singapore General Hospital team that started Peptide Radionuclide Receptor Therapy (PRRT) services in Singapore, and introduced the radioisotope occult lesion localization (ROLL) technique.
Dr Tan published extensively in multiple international peer-reviewed journals, with more than 20 articles in journals such as the British Journal of Radiology, Clinical Nuclear Medicine, Journal of Nuclear Medicine, and the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. He has contributed book chapters in topics of neuroendocrine tumor, breast and lung cancers, and in his career has initiated and participated in multiple investigator and industry initiated clinical trials.
Dr Tan is an active member of the medical community. He is the President of the Singapore Radiological Society (2016-2020) and is the president of the ASEAN Association of Radiology (2019-2021). He was awarded honorary membership of the American Roentgen Ray Society in 2019, and is a member of the World Association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy
He has an interest in Medical Informatics and Technology, and was previously consulting to various technology groups, including National Computer Systems (Singapore), Accenture (Health and Public Services operating group), and Booz and Company. He is currently appointed as a medical advisor to several medical technology start-ups involved in Artificial Intelligence and Teleimaging services.
