About Dr. Raksmey Ea

Dr. EA graduated from the University of Health Sciences Cambodia with a degree of Bachelor of Medicine in 2013 and successfully obtained the degree of Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) with distinctions in 2016. After two years of working as a junior consultant at the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital, he was admitted as a Fellow of Corneal and External Diseases at the Sydney Eye and Ear Hospital in Sydney, Australia, where he became the first Cambodian doctor to hold that position.
 
Since returning, Dr EA practices as a specialist consultant at both the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital and privately at Meng Rutnin Eye Specialists. Dr. EA is also actively involved in the training of junior doctors and participating in strengthening the field of eye care in Cambodia. He is a member of the Cambodia Ophthalmological Society and has been invited to speak at multiple conferences both locally and internationally.

Dr. EA is fellowship-trained in both cornea surgeries and external diseases management. In Sydney, he performed multiple cornea operations including full thickness corneal transplantations (PKP), partial thickness corneal transplantations (DSAEK, DMEK, DALK), complex cataract surgery, pterygium excision with fibrin adhesive and so on. He is also well-versed in the treatment of infectious keratitis, keratoconus, ocular surface tumors and has taken part in the breakthrough study of using ROK-Inhibitors after Descemet stripping without endothelial keratoplasty (DWEK) for the treatment of Fuchs Endothelial Dystrophy with Dr. Greg Moloney.
