Dr Gwee Kok Ann is a leading authority on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and constipation. He is a member of the Rome Committee that publishes international guidelines for research and management of functional GI disorders; the immediate past president of ANMA (Asian Neurogastroenterology & Motility Association); and recipient of the Rome Foundation Research Award 2014. Dr Gwee is also Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at the National University of Singapore. Professor Gwee has international publications on post-infectious irritable bowel, management of persistent diarrhoea, the roles of melatonin, sleep disturbance and non-celiac gluten sensitivity in IBS, endoscopic evaluation of gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), and the effect of Helicobacter pylori treatment in dyspepsia and stomach ulcers. In addition to the management of stomach, liver and bowel disorders, Dr Gwee provides expertise in the management of gas related complaints, bowel habit training and dietary management of food intolerance, fatty liver and weight problems.
